We are pleased to announce that Steve Stein has been appointed the Interim Superintendent for Mokena SD 159 starting on August 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year.
In 2001, Mr. Stein joined Mokena SD 159 as the principal of Mokena Elementary School. He was in this role for a decade before becoming the Superintendent of the district for 2 years.
Mr. Stein then became the Superintendent of Peotone School District where he has remained until his retirement this past school year. While in Peotone, he was passionate about creating opportunities for student success, supporting educators, and engaging with the community.
He also brings experience as a teacher in Beecher and Peotone as well as an Assistant Principal in Plainfield.
“I am both honored and excited to announce my return to the Mokena School District as your superintendent for the 2024-2025 school year. Having previously served this great community, I am deeply committed to our shared goal of providing the best educational experience for our students,” Mr. Stein shared about his return to Mokena.
